I eventually went back to Windows 7 and then did a clean install of Windows 10 and after it was finished and updated, I noticed that the AMDAOO interface was showing up as installed with no exclamation marks in the Device Manager listings.

If I were updating from Windows 7 or Windows 8 and had the same problem now, I’d use the tool Microsoft later made available wushowhide. diagcab to hide the problem update. It is no help to the thousands of people running 10 Home where it won’t work because there is no Group Policy available.
